If you are a normal healthy person and without any fear of
water, then rafting can be your sport. One can become a
skilled rafter in just a few hours of training and the
rafting training facilities exist in different parts of
India. Many tourist agencies and state departments also
conduct courses in river rafting.
Carry dry bags dry bags or boxes to secure small personal
items you may bring with you and it usually also have room
to accommodate an extra layer of clothing. Be sure to take
any necessary prescription medications such as inhalers,
bee-sting kits, insulin etc. Avoid taking your car keys,
wallets, cell phones etc. with you for the rafting trip.
Also take along sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap to secure
them and a camera. Disposable waterproof cameras are easily
available, easy to take along with you and take good quality
pictures.
Appropriate rafting gear on most rivers during the
summertime is a simple swimsuit, nylon shorts, tennis shoes
or sandals, and a hat. Spring and autumn rafting trips are
the ones that require additional clothing. In any case be
sure to dress in layers so that you can easily add or remove
articles, as you need. Avoid cotton clothing while rafting,
except in summers as cotton takes away the warmth from your
body. Wool, polyester fleece and other synthetic materials
will keep you warmer and will dry faster than cotton. Many
rafting clubs have wetsuits available for rent.

Indus River Rafting Tour :: Day 1 : Around midnight arrival
in New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city and capital New Delhi is
the main gateway for the travellers to India. Upon arrival,
you will be met by an Virtual Tours representative and
transferred to the hotel.
Indus River Rafting Tour :: Day 2 : New Delhi Tour
This day is at leisure either to have sightseeing in Delhi
or for relaxation.
Indus River Rafting Tour :: Day 3 : New Delhi - Leh Tour (by
air).
In the morning we will drive to airport to board flight to
Leh. You are met by an Virtual Tours representative and
transferred to your hotel. In the evening we will visit
Sankar Monastery, which is situated in the Indus valley.
Indus River Rafting Tour :: Day 4 : Leh - Hemis - Stakna -
Thiksey Kedar Kantha
In the morning after breakfast we will visit the famous
Hemis Monastery, which has some of the most precious Tankhas,
silver Stupas and enshrines statues of various Buddhist gods
and goddesses. Later drive back to Stakna. Upon arrival we
will meet the Rafting team that includes the Raft driver and
helper. Proper instruction for Rafting as well as safety
techniques shall be given. Then we will begin a thrilling
white water rafting along river Indus. Raft along smooth
River to reach Thiksey. Enroute we will stop at Stakna
Bridge and have Lunch. In the afternoon we will raft again
and stop at Thiksey and spend night there only.
Indus River Rafting Tour :: Day 5 : Thiksey - Spituk Tour
In the morning after breakfast we will drive to visit
Thiksey Monastery. This imposing monastery, situated on a
hill overlooking the village has a huge statue of
Shakayamuni Buddha. We will also visit Shey Palace, which
was earlier the Royal Palace. We will drive back to Thiksey
and start rafting to reach Spituk. In Spituk we have an
overnight stay.
Indus River Rafting Tour :: Day 6 : Spituk - Leh Tour
In the morning after breakfast we will visit Spituk
Monastery overlooking the whole Indus valley. Later we will
drive to Leh. Evening free to explore the local market.
Indus River Rafting Tour :: Day 7 : Leh - New Delhi (by air)
In the morning after breakfast transfer to airport to board
flight for New Delhi. Evening free at leisure (opportunity
for the last shopping or enjoy a massage in the Hotel) After
Dinner we leave the hotel for the airport.

Around midnight flight to home destination.
